As an application designer/developer you are first to visualize the flow of the upcoming application. I’ve been there and I know that it’s hell of a job. You have to think how the app will work, before the client or Program manager himself have figured of all about it.
Getting the screens ready can be somehow managed by using most powerful design tool of all the time - pencil and piece of paper. ( Yeah, *clap clap* ). But there’s another challenge.
Once the screens are in place, next challenge is to visualize the application flow using available screens. Most of the time, Client/PMs’ expectation is to be able to interact with the app in the same way as they did with the final app. Umm, like a clickable mock-up.
Now to create such mockups you gotta shell out good amount of money and creating these mock-up or prototype itself becomes another project. What if there’s free platforms available which does the job in minutes. And what if I tell you there is.
There are free platforms where you can create these clickable Mockups, wireframes or working prototypes. Some good examples are Concept in Box,Canvasflip.com and popappz.
To use these apps, you just need to follow 3 super intuitive steps:
- Upload the PNG, JPEG screens
- Connect screen via anchors ( add gesture and on-screen instruction, if needed)
- That’s it!! Preview and share the link with clients, PM or peers.
Also, the project you create is re-editable ( of course) and you can test, discuss and iterate the flow rather iterating with post-development.
